RedMagic updated the UDC-equipped 7 and 7S Pro with a stripped-down, yet much sharper and cleaner design compared to many of their previous generations. However, the resulting ‘notch-free gamer iPhone’ effect was somewhat disrupted by the boxy rear camera humps often associated with lower-tier smartphones. However, to say that the brand may have fixed this in the upcoming 8th generation might be an understatement.
Nubia’s performance-focused brand has now revealed that it has clearly taken inspiration from the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (and, possibly, S23 Ultra) and has milled the 8 Pro’s rear cameras into individual cut-outs. Furthermore, they are still in the midline of the slim, flat-edged chassis, in a possible nod to classic Android smartphone design.
RedMagic has also revealed that the 8 Pro will be the first mobile device to ship with its latest branding campaign. It still consists of a newly re-proportioned version of the company’s mask-like logo, with an updated font and color scheme.
with thisaesthetic evolution“, RedMagic has declared that the 8 Pro is “not only for e-sports” any more. Nevertheless, with an all but certain upgrade to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, with the retention of visible active cooling in a hallmark transparent variant, the premium smartphone is slated to take all that can be thrown at it from its December 26, 2022 launch.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
