Appointments available for winter heating assistance through GLCAP

Tiffin, Ohio — Great Lakes Community Action Partnership (GLCAP) will be offering emergency winter heating assistance appointments during the final week of December, between Christmas and New Year’s Day.

The GLCAP Emergency Home Energy Assistance Program (EHEAP) is available to residents of Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca, and Wood counties who have received a gas or electric disconnect notice or have already had their utilities disconnected. The program can also help those facing a shortage of bulk fuel such as wood, propane, or fuel oil, or those in need of new or transferred service with a utility company, according to a press release from GLCAP.

Appointments will be available in-person at GLCAP headquarters, 127 S. Front St., Fremont, and the GLCAP Family Development Center, 801 Kirk St., Fostoria, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on Tuesday, December 27th through Thursday, December 29th.

Appointments will also be available at the GLCAP Jordan Family Development Center, 812 N. College Dr., Bowling Green, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on Wednesday, December 28th and Thursday, December 29th. No walk-in appointments will be accepted on these days, according to the release.

It’s important to note that GLCAP will be closed on December 26th in recognition of Christmas and on January 2nd, 2023 in recognition of New Year’s Day. Emergency winter heating assistance through EHEAP will be available until March 31st, 2023.
