Real Madrid refuse to sign another striker in January following Benzema’s international retirement

Real Madrid have stepped up their pursuit of South American supertalents in recent years, especially after the success of players such as Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo. More recently, Los Blancos secured the signing of Endrick from Palmeiras.

According to GE Globo Real Madrid have no intention of stopping either and have made the first move to sign Gianluca Prestianni.

A winger by trade, Prestianni currently plies his trade for Argentine outfit Velez Sarsfield’s youth team. He had made an impression in the club’s U20 setup and was subsequently promoted to the reserve squad in the summer of 2021.

The attacker has since become a rising star in Argentine football, even featuring in six competitive matches for Velez Sarsfield.

Prestianni’s performances have not gone unnoticed, with Real Madrid among the clubs interested in his services. As per the report, the Merengues have even made the first move by establishing contact with the player’s agent.

It appears the club are exploring the possibility of snapping up Prestianni’s services, before other clubs come searching for him. At the age of just 16, the attacker has shown a lot of promise at the youth level, with many believing that he could ply his trade at a higher stage.

To that end, Real Madrid have contacted his agent, Rolando Zarate, who played for the club in the early 2000s. The 16-year-old is a right-footed winger, who prefers to play on the left and has been compared to Endrick due to their age and potential.

In fact, the two even crossed paths in the Montaigu Tournament finals earlier this year, which Brazil’s youth team won by defeating Argentina.

A move to Real Madrid could guarantee Prestianni that platform to showcase his qualities to a higher audience. However, it must be noted that Prestianni will not be eligible to move to Europe until he turns 18.

The 1.66m attacker may have to continue playing for Velez Sarsfield for the time being. A definitive update on his future may come in the coming months, as the youngster is not in a position to not only move to Europe but also make such a big decision in his career.
