The Michigan Insider has confirmed safeties coach Jay Harbaugh stopped by Tampa (Fla.) Zephyrhills to check on 2025 five-star safety DJ Pickett on Friday.
The Wolverines offered the elite 6-foot-2, 170-pounder back in February and then got him up to campus for a return trip for the Penn State game in October.
“The environment was crazy and filled with people,” Pickett told 247Sports following the visit to Ann Arbor. “One thing that excites me is Michigan doesn’t get down on themselves when they are down in a game. I felt loved there.”
Michigan’s newest commit in Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep 2025 four-star cornerback Chris Ewald also stated he plans on recruiting a couple other top talents from the Sunshine State, which included Pickett.
“I plan on recruiting guys like DJ Pickett and Zaquan Patterson,” Ewald told TMI.
There are currently no 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions at this time.
Pickett sits as the No. 8 overall prospect in the 2025 class, the No. 2 safety in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of Florida for his class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
