Aphex Twin has been announced as the headlining act of London’s Field Day festival. The announcement confirms what fans have been speculating since last week, when a mysterious website featuring the producer’s logo was discovered at www.190823.co.uk. The festival comes to Victoria Park on August 19, 2023—the same date as the website’s URL.
Richard D. James has performed at Field Day before, most recently playing a headlining set at Field Day 2017. The performance was broadcast live on NTS Radio; video from the set is still available to stream over on NTS’ website. This year’s set at Field Day will be the first Aphex Twin performance since 2019, when he played sets in London, Paris, and Brooklyn, as well as in Indio, California for Coachella.
Bonobo, Arca, Fever Ray, and Jon Hopkins will play Field Day this year as well. Rounding out the festival’s lineup are Jayda G, Kelela, Moderat, Sbtrkt, Sudan Archives, Actress, Desire, Hagop Tchaparian, and Mount Kimbie, among others. Find the poster below.
